USMNT vs. Costa Rica odds, picks, how to watch, live stream: March 30, 2022 World Cup qualifier predictions

Written by on March 30, 2022

After failing to qualify for the tournament four years ago, the United States men’s national team is in a strong position to qualify for the 2022 World Cup heading into its final qualifying match against Costa Rica. The USMNT is second in the CONCACAF table, with the top three teams earning automatic spots in the World Cup 2022 and will secure a top-three spot with any result better than a six-goal loss on Wednesday. Costa Rica is fourth and is guaranteed a chance to get into Qatar 2022 in the international play-off, but would need a sizable win and likely help to steal a top-three spot from the USA or Mexico. You can stream all the action on Paramount+.

Caesars Sportsbook lists the Americans as +114 favorites (risk $100 to win $114) in the latest USMNT vs. Costa Rica odds, while Costa Rica is the +265 underdog. A draw comes in at +195, while the over-under for total goals scored is 1.5. Wednesday’s match will be streamed live on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan.

2022 World Cup qualifying picks for Costa Rica vs. USMNT

Before you tune in to Wednesday’s CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, you need to see the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers picks from soccer insider Jon Eimer. He is a high-volume bettor who has vast knowledge of leagues and players across the globe. Since joining SportsLine, Eimer has covered the English Premier League, Serie A, the FA Cup and much more. The Indiana-based handicapper compiled a winning record of 260-133-1 with over 90 units of profit for his community on various platforms over a recent two-month stretch.

For USA vs. Costa Rica, Eimer is betting both teams to score for a +122 payout. The match is set up in a way where you’d expect the USMNT to sit back while Costa Rica tries attacks, but that largely goes against the nature of both squads.

Gregg Berhalter’s Americans have been at their best when they’re high-pressing, while Costa Rica has revived its chances of qualifying by playing methodically. However, Costa Rica has proven it has the necessary quality to score with its back against the wall and has now scored in five of its last six qualifying matches.

Even with the United States simply hoping to avoid a six-goal defeat, the USMNT’s quality still seems likely to show with Costa Rica overextending itself. Christian Pulisic is in blistering form coming off a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Panama on Sunday. Others like Paul Arriola, Jesus Ferreira and Gio Reyna have all looked dangerous going forward when presented with opportunities during this qualifying window.
