Super Bowl 2022 odds: Packers, Titans slotted in different tiers despite both being No. 1 seeds

The race to Super Bowl LVI is down to just eight teams coming out of Super Wild Card Weekend. Over the course of that opening playoff slate, no top-tier Lombardi favorites were taken down, as the Cowboys, Cardinals, Patriots, and Raiders were all sent packing. As we step into the divisional round, the two No. 1 seeds in the conference — the Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans — are now factoring into the equation.

While both of those clubs were able to enjoy a first-round bye, the oddsmakers are not treating them as equal top seeds. The Packers enter the divisional round as the Super Bowl favorite at +380, while the Titans own the third-best odds in the conference and third-worst among the remaining playoff teams at +850. Green Bay is -240 on the moneyline to beat the San Francisco 49ers this weekend to advance to the NFC Championship, which are the most favorable odds of any matchup on the slate. Tennessee is -190 ML to beat Cincinnati.

Here’s a breakdown of the eight teams remaining in the playoff picture and their odds to win Super Bowl LVI, which will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022.

What will be fascinating to watch unfold over the weekend is the matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium. After the Packers, both of those AFC clubs are the biggest favorites to win the Super Bowl, so we will see one heavy hitter go down. Both Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes threw five touchdowns during Super Wild Card Weekend, so this could be a high-flying offensive display on Sunday.

As for some dark horses, Cincinnati has great value at +1300 (lowest among playoff teams). Joe Burrow didn’t look like a quarterback who was getting his first taste of playoff football Saturday, and if the Bengals can keep him upright, he has the talent and weapons around him to go toe-to-toe with any offense.

Also, the Los Angeles Rams (+750) can’t be overlooked after their dominating win over the Cardinals on Monday. They completely shut down Kyler Murray, while Matthew Stafford was essentially perfect on the night with a 154.5 passer rating. They’ll face a tough task going into Tampa to face the Buccaneers this weekend, but they have plenty of star power to get to the Super Bowl.
