What you need to know about the Cavaliers

Cleveland was able to snap a three-game losing streak on Monday, picking up a 107-101 win over Orlando. The Cavaliers were hit with some bad news too though, as rookie center Evan Mobley sprained his left ankle and is going to miss this game. They are already playing without starting center Jarrett Allen, who has missed 11 straight games with a fractured finger.

Backup forward Dean Wade underwent season-ending knee surgery as well, so the Cavaliers are playing short-handed. Point guard Darius Garland leads Cleveland with 21.5 points and 8.6 assists per game, but he is the only top-four scorer on the team who will be available for this game. Star shooting guard Collin Sexton went down with a season-ending knee injury after just 11 games.

What you need to know about the Mavericks

Dallas won its fourth game in five tries when it dominated the Lakers in a 128-110 final on Tuesday night. The Mavericks scored 43 points in the first quarter and never looked back, easily covering the spread as 12-point favorites. Luka Doncic scored 34 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 12 assists, pacing seven Dallas players in double figures.

Doncic, who had a triple-double in a loss to Cleveland on Nov. 29, is averaging 28.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 8.5 assists this season. The Mavericks are three wins away from their first 50-win season since 2014-15. They have covered the spread in seven of their last nine trips to Cleveland.
