Luis Pena 911 audio reveals terrified partner’s call to police: ‘I need him gone … I need help, please’

New 911 audio reveals the moments before former UFC lightweight Luis Pena was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery and domestic violence.
Pena’s partner, whose name MMA Fighting is withholding, told dispatchers she had sustained multiple injuries and needed help after allegedly being assaulted by Pena, who was released earlier this week by the UFC when details of his most recent arrest came to light.
“We have a no-contact order so, technically, we shouldn’t even be living together,” the woman said in audio obtained by MMA Fighting (and first reported by TMZ). “I really need the cops to come get him out now because I have scratches and bruises all over me now from him. I need him gone. I’m done, and I need help. Please.”
The woman called 911 after she said Pena got physical.
“I wasn’t trying to snitch, but since my boyfriend wants to be an assh*le, he put his hands on me and he’s got to go,” she said.
Asked about what happened, the woman said it wasn’t the first time Pena had allegedly assaulted her.
“He punched me in the face, but he did this also two days ago,” she explained. “I have a band-aid on my back, I have everything to prove it. So I would like the police to come and remove him, so I can get my things and go the f*ck home.”
According to a probable cause affidavit stemming from the alleged battery and domestic violence arrest, the 28-year-old UFC vet struck the woman multiple times with a closed fist and then struck another woman when she witnessed the incident and tried to intervene. The woman was found with minor abrasions on the top of her left hand, left wrist and “an alleged bite mark to her left knee region”; the other woman sustained a purple contusion on her face and laceration on her right elbow.
“They were mad because I wouldn’t cooperate because I didn’t want to snitch on him, unfortunately I have to now,” the woman said in the 911 audio. “I would like them to come back.”
The woman, described in police documents as Pena’s romantic partner of over one year, is also at the center of two separate cases stemming from alleged incidents of domestic violence. In June, Pena was arrested on suspicion of robbery, battery, and criminal mischief after allegedly striking her for looking at other men on Instagram. That incident followed another in May where Pena allegedly punched her with a closed fist as they sat in a parked car talking about their relationship.
In the case from June, the woman allegedly slammed the door on investigators after becoming angry that Pena hadn’t been arrested despite her call for help after the alleged assault. After the robbery, battery, and criminal mischief charges were downgraded, the woman filed an affidavit with the court in both pending cases signaling she did not wish to move forward pressing charges against Pena.
The UFC initially said Pena was seeking treatment for drug and mental health issues and did not take any action against the fighter. But after the most recent charges, he was released from his contract. UFC President Dana White said “this was a bad case and we knew he had problems before that we were trying to help him with” and said of the release, “this one had to happen.”
After his most recent arrest, Pena posted bond and was released from the Broward County (Fla.) Jail.
Pena’s cases are one of several alleged domestic violence incidents involving current or former UFC fighters that have surfaced in recent weeks.
