What to Know
Get ready for a Big 12 battle as the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Baylor Bears will face off at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium. These two teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.
Last week, Oklahoma State turned the game against the Kansas State Wildcats into a track meet and took the gold after outgaining them 481 yards to 260. The Cowboys walked away with a 31-20 win. The Oklahoma State offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway. Oklahoma State QB Spencer Sanders was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 344 yards on 34 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
Meanwhile, Baylor sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-29 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones last week. Baylor QB Gerry Bohanon did work as he passed for two TDs and 158 yards on 19 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 39 yards.
Oklahoma State is the favorite in this one, with an expected 3.5-point margin of victory. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a two-game streak of ATS wins.
The wins brought Oklahoma State up to 4-0 and Baylor to 4-0. A couple defensive stats to keep an eye on: The Cowboys are 143rd worst in the nation in passing yards allowed per game, with 224.5 on average. The Bears have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the fifth most rushing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 141.3 on average. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
