Team news
Barcelona: There is some serious buzz about this Barca side, and that’s because of the two new additions to the squad. Both Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are in Xavi’s squad for the Atleti clash. It will be quite telling if both start as the team is short of veteran quality that isn’t past its prime. They both offer more pace, while Adama’s strength will be crucial for an undersized Barca attack. Aubameyang looks like this team’s clear No. 9, potentially with Ferran Torres next to him.
Atletico Madrid: This team enters as healthy as it has been in a while, and the squad features some of the new signings with Reinaldo and Daniel Wass included. Wass is an interesting one as the former Valencia man is quite versatile, being able to play multiple positions in the midfield while also being used as a fullback. Diego Simeone will, however, be without the services of Antoine Griezmann, as the on-loan attacker, who joined from Barca over the summer, misses out due to injury.
Prediction
The vibes are great early as Barca take the lead through Pedri, but Atleti get one back in the second half thanks to Luis Suarez as he punishes his former club. Pick: Barcelona 1, Atletico Madrid 1
