Flavor Flav took a trip to Harvard University to school the students on the beginnings of hip-hop culture. In a clip obtained by TMZ, the Public Enemy hype man discussed how Emily Dickinson‘s 1896 poem “A Clock Stopped” tied into rappers’ bars throughout the years.
Flav’s classroom takeovers kicked off Tuesday and will come to an end on Wednesday. Before his teaching time is up, he’ll attend a writers workshop, have a sit-down with PBS and volunteer with a few student groups to feed the homeless inside the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter.
He’s already donated one of his clocks to the Hip Hop Archive Research Institute.
Flavor’s appearance at Harvard makes him one of few celebrities at the campus. TMZ reports Lupe Fiasco, Dee-1, DJ Stretch Armstrong, Muhammad Ali’s daughter Khaliah Ali and a personal friend of Fav’s were also in attendance.
