After years of back and forth with Megan Thee Stallion, the CEO of her former record label 1501 Certified Entertainment, Carl Crawford, has said he won’t talk about her in a negative light. Speaking with TMZ, he blamed their issues on social media, as he claims he never had a problem with the rapper.

“Me and Megan, we haven’t talked since 2019,” he says. “We’ve been going through, I guess, what you guys see online and it’s unfortunate because I never wanted to have a situation where I was, you know, going back and forth with her on the internet.”

“I never had any problems with Megan Thee Stallion,” he continues. “It’s just the social media stuff, it turned really, really sour. You take this social media part out of it, we don’t have a problem … I’m done with that.”

Carl added people won’t “hear me mention Megan Thee Stallion name in the media” unless he’s addressing the issue, as he did with TMZ. “You not gon’ see me texting or making a post or doing any of that stuff that would cause social media to go crazy.”

Meg and 1501’s legal issues started in 2020, months after she signed a management deal with Roc Nation, which Crawford told Variety he was blindsided by. She filed a lawsuit claiming the label refused to renegotiate her contract and blocked her from dropping new music.

In 2022, she filed a lawsuit seeking to get out of her contract, arguing her Something For Thee Hotties mixtape completed her contract. Crawford and 1501 countersued, saying it was a “bulls*** a** mixtape” that didn’t fulfill the requirements. She later amended the suit, asking for $1 million in damages.

The two also exchanged words on social media amid their tension.
