AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022 scores, schedule, live stream, table: Sam Kerr’s Australia score 18 on Indonesia

The 2022 AFC Asian Women’s Cup officially kicked off Thursday as 12 countries compete to lift the continental Cup. Japan are the 2018 reigning champions, and several teams will compete for the title and five qualifying spots in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The tournament is hosted in India with matches played in three stadiums across the country. Fans can watch the entire 2022 AFC Women’s Cup on Paramount+.

The competition started with China defeating Chinese Taipei 4-0 on Thursday thanks to two goals from forward Wang Shuang. Wang Shanshan and Zhang Xin extended the scoreline for the Steel Roses.

Thursday’s action closed out with a scoreless draw between host country India and tournament debutants Iran. Iranian goalkeeper Zohreh Koudaei came up with a huge save late in the second half to secure Iran their first ever points in the tournament. 

Sam Kerr’s Australia stole headlines on Friday with 18 goals in their opener against Indonesia.
