It’s been a rollercoaster of a season for the Raiders, who won their first three games, had their offense go cold during a two-game losing streak and then saw head coach Jon Gruden resign after his regular usage of offensive language in emails surfaced.
However, the team responded with a dominant 34-24 win over the Broncos on Sunday to improve to 4-2 on the season. After two difficult weeks, Derek Carr was back on time and in rhythm like he had been the first three weeks of the season. He torched the Broncos for 341 yards and two touchdowns on just 27 pass attempts.
Despite struggling against the Bears and Chargers in Weeks 4 and 5, Carr is now averaging 8.4 yards per attempt this season. Meanwhile, an Eagles pass defense that had been strong the first five weeks was dissected by Tom Brady in the first half last week and could be challenged in Week 7 by the Raiders’ downfield passing attack.
