Giants at Saints picks: Point spread, total, player props, trends for New Orleans’ return to the Superdome

The New York Giants and the New Orleans Saints will open up Caesars Superdome for the first time this season when they go toe-to-toe in Week 4. New Orleans began the year away from their home stadium in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, but now have the all-clear to head back and will do so with a 2-1 record. Meanwhile, the Giants will head down to New Orleans in hopes of finding their first win of the season as they’ve begun the year 0-3. These past two weeks in particular have been rough for Joe Judge’s teams, losing back-to-back contests on game-winning field goals.
As we turn our attention to this game, we’ll specifically be looking at the gambling angles that this head-to-head head has to offer. Below, we’ll detail the line movements throughout the week and give you our picks for this matchup along with a handful of our favorite player props.

New Orleans opened as an 8-point favorite over the Giants, but that advantage has diminished as the week’s progressed with the public seemingly liking New York and the points here. As of Friday, this line is down a full point from it’s original number to Saints -7.
The pick: Saints -7. This line was a little dicy when it was over the touchdown threshold, but with it at seven points, I’d be comfortable going with the Saints here. While their win over the Patriots last week was impressive, there are still plenty of holes on this New Orleans roster that could use improving. That said, New York can’t seem to get out of their own way (2-5 ATS over their last seven) and just lost starting middle linebacker Blake Martinez for the season. Daniel Jones has played well this season, but the rest of the Giants surrounding cast — including the coaching staff — is a big question. The Saints have also played well at home as of late, owning a 4-1 ATS record as a home favorite.
Key trend: Saints are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games.
Over/Under total
The total has also seen a noticeable drop this week. After opening at 43.5, this number ticked down to 42 on Wednesday and has held firm ever since.
The pick: Under 42. New Orleans is allowing the third-fewest points per game throughout the first three weeks of the season and just 304 yards of total offense per game (sixth-best in the NFL). Meanwhile, their offense hasn’t lit the league on fire and is only moving 234 yards per game (31st). As for New York, their offense isn’t much better and is putting up less than 20 points per game and managed to find the end zone just one last week against a poor Atlanta defense.
Key trend: Under is 5-1 in Giants last six road games.
Player props to consider
Saquon Barkley total rushing yards: Under 56.5 (-115). New Orleans has held elite backs in check so far this season and are allowing just 60.3 rushing yards per game. Barkley showed promise last week, but the Giants are still easing him back in the fold.
Alvin Kamara total rushing yards: Over 75.5 (-115). The Saints star has already gone over this prop in two of his three games played this season and will be going up against a Giants defense that just lost its middle linebacker for the season.
Jameis Winston total passing touchdowns: Over 1.5 (+115). Every quarterback the Giants have faced this season has thrown for multiple touchdowns. With someone of Winston’s capabilities at plus money, this is a strong play.
